Loneliness is not a small thing. One in two adults in the U.S. report experiencing it, and the years since 2020 have only made that plainer. What most of us are missing is not company exactly, but a reason to be somewhere, and something to talk about once we arrive.

At our swaps, we bring like-minded people together. Not just to gain new plants, but to learn from each other, make new friends, and share what we love.

We also removed the awkwardness of working out whether your plant is worth someone else's. No haggling, no one-to-one trades. Everything goes into a shared pool: you bid with stickers, some plants get drawn, and everyone leaves with something. It's a potluck, not a marketplace.

We intentionally host our swaps in green spaces and local venues you may not have discovered yet. Among them, the City College of San Francisco's Environmental Horticulture & Floristry Department and the Randall Museum, to name a few.

We also invite plant societies and experts to share their expertise and lead workshops. More than cuttings, we're exchanging knowledge, stories, and the occasional strong opinion about soil.

At our swaps, no plant goes unloved. Any remaining plants are donated to local charities, helping bring a little more greenery and joy to the community. More than twelve Bay Area charities have received plants so far. It's our way of making sure every plant finds a home.
